Minutes of IPRCS AGM, help at IMVIP, 2 September 2004, Trinity College Dublin 1. An agenda was distributed by Paul Whelan, IPRCS Chair. 2. The minutes of the previous year's meeting were distributed and matters arising were discussed. 3. Paul Whelan reported on IAPR matters. Reports were provided by the Secretary (Fionn Murtagh) and Treasurer (Jon Campbell). Subs are up to date with IAPR and IFCS. A small positive balance is in the IPRCS bank account. 4. Ken Dawson-Howe was thanked for organising, with his colleagues, the very successful 2004 IMVIP conference. Some discussion took place on the tutorials. These were very well attended. However it was felt that participation by PhD and other research students in Ireland should be higher. 5. Membership dues: the Treasurer will invoice Ken, as organiser of IMVIP 2004, for the annual IPRCS dues that were collected as part of the registration fee. 6. Proposal to change IMVIP to a 2-year cycle, to alternate with ICPR and IFCS: rejected. It was unanimously agreed that holding IMVIP every year was best. 7. IMVIP 2005: proposed to host in QUB, with Ahmed Bouridane as the organiser. Ahmed is to confirm this by email to the IPRCS Chair, Paul Whelan. Ahmed should discuss the plans for short courses (tutorials) with Paul, and be aware of the IPRCS dues aspect. 8. IPRCS short courses for 2005: wait for Ahmed's input. 9. OI'2005: Fionn Murtagh reports on plans for this including an upcoming submission deadline, and the interest of having an invited speaker in the imaging/vision area. 10. IFCS matters: proposed that Brendan Murphy be the IFCS representive of IPRCS. Unanimously agreed. 11. Publication options - LNCS, IVC, etc. Result of discussion: no change in the current tradition of local publication of proceedings. Ken Dawson-Howe: the IMVIP 2004 proceedings will be available online. Paul Whelan, who now hosts the IPRCS web site, will look after these when they are made available by Ken. Bryan Scotney will see if IMVIP 2003 (UUC) can be also made available. 12. Collect email addresses of IMVIP 2004 participants: Jon Campbell will probably take over the administration of the email distribution list, currently looked after by Maria Husin in QUB. Ken will send the 2004 email addresses to both Fionn and Jon.
