5 Using SCL

3.3.6 Emission
SCL is available only as a source archive. See the Retrieval section for information on retrieving it. Unpack the archive file into an empty directory. Edit the SWARMHOME variable in Makefile as appropriate, and type make. Provided Swarm itself has been correctly installed on your system (and is a compatible release) then SCL should now be built.
SCL v0.04 was originally developed against the Swarm release dated 961002; since this is still a beta release, later releases will not necessarily be backward compatible, and SCL may well require modification to successfully build against any such later Swarm release.
