About Me



Dr. Diana Bogusevschi is a Research Fellow in the Performance Engineering Laboratory, School of Electronic Engineering, Dublin City University. She is the Horizon2020 NEWTON Project Manager working together with the NEWTON Project Coordinator, Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean. She graduated the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 2005 with a degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications. In 2009 she obtained a PhD in Electronic Engineering in DCU, with research focused on efficient numerical techniques for solving electromagnetic wave scattering, specifically the Integral Equation and the Buffered Block Forward Backward Technique. The same year She started working in the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) on the ClearSight project. Together with the National University of Galway and the Wellington Eye Clinic, developing a new method and device for improving Intraocular Lens Power Calculations (IOL) for cataract surgery. In 2013, after receiving investment from a multinational ophtalmic leader, the project spun out as a start-up company, ClearSight Innovations. After successfully completing the functional prototype that measures multiple parameters of the human eye and an innovative technique to accurately calculate the IOL, excellent clinical results were obtained. This resulted in the acquisiton of ClearSight Innovations ltd. in 2015.

In 2017 Dr. Diana Bogusevschi returned to Dublin City University as a Research Fellow and NEWTON Project Manager, working with Project Coordinator Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean, managing the large project team comprising or 14 institutions in 7 European Countries, leading technology enhanced learning STEM subjects educational pilots in primary, secondary and third level institutions and disseminating the obtained results.
