The Examination¶
Note: All information here is subject to confirmation by the University during the semester.
The terminal examination this year will be an on-campus computer-based exam.
Details of the format will be provided during lectures
Between April 2020 (the Semester 2 paper for 2019/20) and August 2025 (the resit paper for 2024/25) the terminal examination was an online exam for which students downloaded the paper in Word format, typed in their answers, and uploaded the edited document in PDF format to Loop
From Semester Two 2025/26 onwards, the exam format is a computer-based exam, where you must use a DCU-supplied desktop PC with limited web access
Details of the accessible websites will be provided during the semester
Your exam paper will be downloaded by you from Loop onto one of these PCs, and you will enter your answers using LibreOffice Write
Technical issues related to licence activation mean that you won’t use Microsoft Word
Sample paper available in February 2026
Past Papers¶
Past papers are available on a central DCU service. I include links to some old papers here for historical reasons (the central archive used to feature scanned copies of the printed paper, rather than a copy of the source PDF file). Note: In past papers for EE562 for sessions prior to Semester II, 2017/18, only Section B of the paper is relevant to the current version of the module.
Resits for EE562 were not offered before 2009.
PDFs of papers from 2012-13 onwards are archived centrally by DCU
No model solutions are available for these papers.
Each student was provided an individual exam paper in Semester 2, 2019-2020. Two representative papers are shown in PDF format
The papers for the online exams in August 2020 and both Semester II and the resit of subsequent years up to 2024/25 should be available as PDFs (but not as Word docs) on the main DCU archive.
The Word versions of papers for selected online exams are linked to below.
