General Course Questions:

I have no previous experience with computer graphics, am I a suitable candidate for the course?

The course covers all aspects of graphics and visualisation. It begins with a high level introduction to various topics in the areas of 2-D and 3-D graphics and continues with a more in depth investigation into advanced concepts in computer graphics. The course does not require any previous experience with image processing or computer graphics, however any such experience would be beneficial to the student. The student is required to be competent in both C++ and Java prior to undertaking this course.

Is there an assignment?

Yes, there are two.

• At about week 5 there will be an assignment dealing with the material introduced in the first part of the module (2D graphics, VRML, Java 3D)
• and again at week 9, there will be an assignment dealing with the material introduced in the second part of the module (C++, Open GL, Advanced Computer Graphics)
