(Old) News
So, this is "news" that mostly isn't new anymore ... one of
these days (years?) I'll get around to starting a proper blog...

- 29-Mar-2007: Slides are available for the talk
Preliminary Steps toward Artificial Protocell
Computation presented at the International Conference on
Morphological Computation (ICMC-07), Venice, Italy, March
27-28th, 2007.
- 18-Mar-2006: Slides are available for the talk
Preliminary Steps toward Artificial Protocell
Computation presented at the International Conference on
Morphological Computation (ICMC-07), Venice, Italy, March
27-28th, 2007.
- 26-Sep-2005: Slides are now available for all
presentations at the seminar on Web Accessibility Quality Marks in Europe,
hosted in DCU on August 31st 2005.
- 12-May-2005: The first volume of AISHE
Readings: Emerging
issues in the practice of University Learning and Teaching was
launched during the AISHE/SEDA Spring Conference 2005.
- 5-Mar-2005: Slides are available for the talk
(Artificial) Chemistry meets Software Agents?
presented at the PACE IT Potential Workshop (ECLT, March
2005).
- 13-Sep-2004: Slides now available for the
presentation What is Artificial Life? -- a short presentation
at the workshop Rethinking Life: Scientific and Philosophical
Perspectives at Artificial Life IX,
Boston, 12 September 2004.
- 30-July-2004: Now available (courtesy of
Complexity Digest): the audio of my talk, "30 Years of Computational
Autopoiesis: A Review", at the colloquium From Autopoiesis to Neurophenomenology: A Tribute to
Francisco Varela. The audio makes a little more sense in
conjunction with the presentation slides. A
preprint version of the full paper is also available (the final
version appears in Artificial
Life, Vol. 10, Issue 3, Summer 2004).
- 20 Jul 2004: "A Comparative Assessment of Web Accessibility and
Technical Standards Conformance in Four EU States" (co-authored
with Carmen Marincu) has been published in
First Monday. Due to some limitations of the
journal style, that version does not itself conform to certain
accessibility guidelines (!). An essentially equivalent, but more accessible,
version of the paper is also available in "preprint" form.
- 6 Jul 2004: Accessing Web Based Documents Through a Tree
Structural Interface (co-authored with Esmond
Walshe) was presented at ICCHP 2004.
- 22 April 2004: The rationale for the DCU
deployment of the Moodle Virtual Learning
Environment is explained in Moodle at DCU (co-authored with Morag
Munro), a paper presented at EdTech 2004.
