Conclusion: DCU's Role

Dublin City University, together with the other Irish Universities, has been to the forefront in adopting the tools of computer mediated communication to facilitate and enhance its activities in both teaching and research. As a result, there is now a substantial pool of expertise in these technologies spread throughout DCU.

Therefore the University would certainly wish to provide every possible support and encouragement to the Forum in considering these issues. In the first instance, we would be happy to provide demonstrations of Internet technology in order to clarify and elaborate the proposals. More importantly, we would welcome an opportunity to discuss the substantive and tangible support which the University could give to the implementation of the proposals.
