Exercise Format and Marking Scheme

During the test, you must prepare a report. This should be generally in accordance with with the Software Engineering 1: Laboratory Report Guidelines. However, the details of the marking scheme will be somewhat different, as detailed below.

The test exercise will have two distinct parts. The report should have separate Plan, Coding, Testing and Conclusion sections for each part. The two parts are interdependent. Ideally, you should complete the first part in order to attempt the second. However, notwithstanding this, it is recommended that you plan your allocation of time between the parts carefully in advance, and stick to this allocation during the test. Ensure that you allow adequate time for finalising and proof-reading the report at the end.

The layout of the test will be as follows:

Note that no marks will be awarded for mere submission in this test, and that the "bonus" marks have been redistributed rather than being kept separate.

This is a repeat test and is assessed independently of the two laboratory tests done during the academic year. That is, to pass the course at this repeat attempt you must achieve a mark of 40% in this test in isolation: no credit will be given at this repeat attempt for marks in either of the previous tests.
