Gamification portal

Gamification means the application of typical game elements and mechanics (i.e. points, badges, levels, leadboard, prizes, etc.) in every non-game context, such as Education.

It aims to target the instinct in human beings which entices performance by way of motivation through novel, rewarding, competitive fun ideas which make it similar to an experience of playing a game.

The impact of Gamification in learning over traditional methods has been increasing. According to a study conducted by the University of Colorado Gamification techniques offer 14% higher skill-based knowledge, 11% higher factual knowledge, and 9% increase in knowledge retention rate.

Game-based learning involves the development and implementation of serious games or games "with a particular purpose" as a means of promoting learning and stimulating involvement in the learning process.

Gamification can be strong in the opportunities it offers for a more engaging learning path that offers flexibility and cohesion.
