Bio:
Senior Lecturer with the School of Electronic Engineering, co-Director of the Performance Engineering Laboratory at Dublin City University, Ireland and Consultant Professor with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Dublin City University, Ireland for research in quality-oriented adaptive multimedia streaming over wired networks in 2003. He was awarded the B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in Software Engineering from the Computer Science Department, "Politehnica" University of Timisoara, Romania in 1996 and 1997, respectively. Dr. Muntean's research interests include quality and performance-related issues of adaptive multimedia streaming, performance of content delivery over wired and wireless networks and with various devices, and energy-aware networking. Dr. Muntean is Associate Editor with the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, Associate Editor with the IEEE Communications Survey and Tutorials and reviewer for important international journals, conferences and funding agencies. He is a member of IEEE and IEEE Broadcast Technology Society.

Received her PhD for research on verification and control of real-time discrete event dynamical systems from University of California, Berkeley in 1993. She is a Lecturer in the School of Electronic Engineering, DCU and co-Director of the DCU Performance Engineering Laboratory. Her research interests are in the area of performance of web-based systems, performance of large-scale software systems, and performance of networks.

Bio:
Diana Bogusevschi graduated from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 2005 with a degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications and then got a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering in DCU in 2009. The same year she started working in the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) on the ClearSight project, which later became the start-up company ClearSightInnovationsin 2013. The company was acquired in 2015 following the successful completion of the functional prototype that measures multiple parameters of the human eye and an innovative technique to accurately calculate the IOL.

Ting Bi is a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean,with the Performance Engineering Laboratory, School of Electronic Engineering, Dublin City University, Ireland. He was awarded the B.Eng. degree in Software Engineering from Wuhan University, China in 2010, and received the M.Eng. degree in Telecommunications from Dublin City University, Ireland in 2011. Mr Bi's current research interests include wireless mobile networks, multimedia streaming over wireless access networks as well as handover and network selection strategies, and energy saving for mobile devices. He is a student member of IEEE.

Anderson Simiscuka is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean, with the Performance Engineering Laboratory, School of Electronic Engineering, Dublin City University. He received the B.Sc. degree in Information Systems in 2014 from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, São Paulo, Brazil. He has worked in several telecom and software development projects in companies such as Wittel (2010-2013), DCU/Ericsson (E-Stream Project, 2014), Arkadin (2014) and IBM (2015). His research is mainly focused on Internet of Things communications performance.

Bao Trinh Nguyen received the B.Eng. degree in telecommunications from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2009 and the M.Eng. degree in telecommunications from Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland, in 2014. Fábio Rodrigues da Silva is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean from DCU - Dublin City University, Ireland. He has an International Executive MBA in E-business (Fundação Getúlio Vargas/FGV, Brazil) and a software engineering course extension (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica/ITA, Brazil). In 2016 he received the MSc degree in Management and Technology in Productive Systems (Centro Paula Souza, Brazil). He has worked as IT consultant in both the "traditional" private sector and for startup companies (2 of them as a manager and co-founder and other 3 as IT consultant and manager) mainly in projects related to multimedia, EDI and system integration. His research is mainly focused on on Machine Learning and Cloud Delivery of digital fabrication services.
