 About the Conference

CIICT is an international conference focusing on topical research in the broad area of Information and Communications Technologies. The conference is jointly sponsored and organised by Chinese and Irish Universities with hosting alternating between China and Ireland. The first CIICT conference was hosted by Hangzhou Dianzi University in October 2006. The 2007 conference will be jointly sponsored and organised by Dublin City University and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, in association with Hangzhou Dianzi University. The conference will be hosted in Dublin City University, Ireland.

Please follow paper submission instructions carefully, as papers of the incorrect format can not be accepted for publication.

Please note that it is expected that each paper accepted for publication must be represented by a registered delegate. Conference registration information may be found here.

Preparation of Papers

Papers for submission to CIICT2007 must be formatted according to the instructions provided in the CIICT paper template (below). Both MSWord and LaTex templates are provided, however, papers must be converted to a high quality PDF (Portable Document Format) file before submission. No other format can be accepted. PDF files must have all fonts embedded. The PDF file must not exceed 1MB in size. Authors with difficulty providing their paper in this format, please contact ciict@ciict.org.

CIICT paper template (LaTex and BibTex):  ciict2007.tex  ciict2007.bib

     or

CIICT paper template (MS Word):  ciict2007.doc

The template for first submission and final papers is the same.

The maximum paper length for final papers is 8 pages (tables, figures, appendices, etc. included). Papers in excess of this limit will incur an excess page charge of 100 euros per excess page. There is a strict limit of 3 excess pages (11 pages total).

To ensure correct indexing of the proceedings, all author names must be in first name, last name format.

Notification of Acceptance

Following reviews, corresponding authors have now been notified of acceptance/rejection by email on June 14th 2007. Paper reviewer comments are provided privately to the corresponding author via their online paper submission system login (here).

Preparation of Final Papers

Final papers must be prepared strictly in accordance with the above instructions, the paper template and the checklist for authors. Papers which do not fully conform cannot be published. Final papers are to be submitted via the CIICT online paper submission system using your existing login on or before July 2nd 2007.

 Venue+Travel

Dublin is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Ireland, near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey. Dublin can claim to be one of the most beautifully situated of the world's capitals, located in the wide plain overlooked by the legendary Wicklow Mountains and facing a broad sweeping bay that leads into the Irish Sea. Founded as a centre of Viking settlement in the 9th century, the city has been Ireland's capital since medieval times.

The layout of the medieval city is still apparent today despite changes brought on by embanking the river, the influence of the Commissioners of Wide Streets (1757) and Victorian improvements. Dublin formed the backdrop to some of Ireland’s defining events, including the Easter Rising of 1916, and fathered such cultural icons as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Brendan Behan and U2. Today the city is vibrant with one of the youngest populations in Europe. As well as enjoying the history, architecture and culture of the city and the natural beauty of the surrounding area, visitors can enjoy a vibrant night life in a city with over 1000 pubs (Irish-style bars), many theatres, restaurants and live music events.

Climate

Dublin enjoys a maritime temperate climate characterised by mild winters, cool summers, and a lack of temperature extremes. Contrary to popular belief, Dublin does not experience as high rainfall as the West of Ireland, which receives twice that of the capital city. Dublin has fewer rainy days, on average, than London. The coldest months are January and February, while July and August are warmest. Towards the end of August the average maximum daily temperature is 18°C and the average minimum daily temperature is 11°C. However, temperatures in summer in recent years have been rising to substantially above average figures; 31°C (88°F) in July 2006. Sunrise at the end of August is at 6:30am and sunset at 8:30 pm.
