Research Interests:

  • Computer and Machine Vision, particularly: motion segmentation and analysis; structure from motion; motion description; active contours; and, active models.
  • 3D Computer Graphics and Visualisation: real-time visualisation; modelling (human and general); user-interfaces and scene graph theory.
  • e-Learning Technologies: server-side learning platforms and methodologies with particular interest in 'new media' (e.g. web 2.0) and its use in learning.

  • Technical Assessments: Current Technical Assessor of IDA RD&I Applications; Enterprise Ireland R&D Fund; and, Innovation Partnership applications. 1999-2008 Assessed R&D Capability, Research Technology and Innovation (RTI) and e-Business Capability Programme applications for the IDA, Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development and Údarás na Gaeltachta.
